Miranda Lightner
Master’s Student & Project Associate
Areas of Expertise
Selection, Training, and Leadership Development
Miranda is a first-year graduate student in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology master’s program at Middle Tennessee State University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from High Point University, where she developed a strong foundation in research and applied psychological principles.
During her undergraduate internship with a public safety consulting group, Miranda gained hands-on experience with psychological assessments and contributed to the development of testing tools for evaluating public safety professionals. This sparked her interest in leadership development, personnel selection, and the broader application of psychological measurement in organizational settings.
Her undergraduate research focused on hiring decision-making and candidate evaluation, specifically looking at how perceived similarity influences perceptions of fit.
